What's With the Logo?
You may have noticed the cartoon logo of Johnny on top of this and every other page of Johnny-Sells.com. How did that get there?Before I was an entrepreneur, I was an actor. I appeared in many commercials and sales and training films, even one big screen movie, Butterscotch & Chocolate. I was trying to break into voiceovers and hired a student artist from the Art Institute of Chicago to draw my caricature for the cover of the sample tape I would take around to the advertising agencies.
My voiceover career never took off, but the caricature was a good one and I decided to use it for Johnny-Sells. I asked my web sight designer to animate it to show the prevailing weather conditions here in The Windy City of Chicago.
Whenever I give my business card to someone, the cartoon never fails to elicit a smile. I think it pretty well sums me up, friendly, bald and always willing to help.
Janet's Tale
Janet Treuhaft is the driving force of Johnny-Sells. Her tireless dedication to the business has taken us a lot farther than I ever thought possible.
Retail is in her blood. Her father and uncle ran the Treuhaft Brothers Furniture store in Toledo, Ohio for years. The other side of her family has owned Roth Furs in Toledo for generations.
Janet is also the Sherlock Holmes of Johnny-Sells. Her tenacity and keen eccentric mind help her to identify even the most obscure jewelry and pottery marks.
She is a former public relations professional and winner of the coveted Gold & Silver Trumpet awards presented by the Publicity Club of Chicago. Her experiences in the corporate world lend Johnny-Sells a professional demeanor.
